The PM office (PMO) has given information about the PM Cares Fund. According to this, in the first 5 days after the formation of this fund, Rs 3,076 crore was deposited in this fund. This information has been received from the first audit report for the financial year 2019-20 of payments and deposits made by the Prime Minister Cares Fund.

The fund was set up on 27 March with an initial fund of Rs 2.25 lakh to deal with the Corona epidemic. According to the report, the people of India gave Rs 3,075.8 crore to this fund as per their wish till 31 March 2020, in the first 5 days. But this report is for 5 days from 27 March to 31 March and the subsequent report can come out after the end of this financial year i.e. in April 2021 or after. However, it has not been given information as to which who has given the amount. According to the report, till March 31, a foreign fund of Rs 39.6 lakh was also received.

Apart from this, the interest of Rs 35.3 lakh was received from domestic donation and Rs 575 from a foreign donation in the first 5 days. The PM Cares Fund has been audited by SARC and Associate Chartered Accountants and has also been signed by 4 officers of the PMO.
