India is going to host the International Olympic Committee (IOC) season next year. Yes, and it's going to be a historic occasion. India has not hosted the IOC season since the session held in New Delhi in 1983. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed happiness over India being elected as the host for the 2023 International Olympic Committee (IOC) season. As you can see, the Prime Minister's Office tweeted, "Happy to know that India has been selected to host the 2023 International Olympic Committee season. I am confident that this will be a memorable IOC session and it will lead to positive results for the world of sports.''

On the other hand, there are reports that in the session, IOC members discuss important topics like the Olympic Charter and the election of cities to host the Olympics. The choice of the host country for the 2030 Winter Olympics and setting the sports schedule for the 2028 Summer Olympics can be included in the agenda of this season. On the other hand, the international Olympic committee meeting will be held in May-June 2023 at the 'Jio World Convention Centre' in Mumbai.

According to reports, in the voting to host this annual meeting, India got 75 votes out of 76 votes. After winning the hosting rights with an overwhelming majority, IOC member and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation Nita Ambani described it as a historic moment for India. Nita Ambani said, "The Olympic Movement is coming back to India after a wait of 40 years! I am grateful to the International Olympic Committee for handing over the honour of hosting the IOC session in Mumbai in 2023 to India. This will usher in a new era for Indian sports.''

The Indian delegation included Nita Ambani, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Dr Narinder Batra, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and Olympic gold medallist in shooting Abhinav Bindra. At the ongoing IOC's annual session in Beijing, the Indian delegation virtually sided with India to host the upcoming meeting.
