NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the public on Wednesday to visit border villages as part of the "Vibrant Villages programme" unveiled in the 2019 budget.
He went on to say that the initiative is critical for the development of border settlements."How nice it would be if people from tehsils could visit border communities and see for themselves what the atmosphere is like and how people live." It will not only be an educational activity, but it will also assist promote our Vibrant Villages scheme," Modi stated during a webinar on Budget 2022-23 focusing on water and rural development with the motto "#LeavingNoCitizenBehind."
The webinar series is part of a new endeavour to engage in conversation and dialogue with the program's numerous stakeholders. The PM struck an emotional chord with the locals when he recommended conducting village birthday celebrations.
"Women are the backbone of the rural economy, and financial inclusion has guaranteed that women participate in household economic decisions," Modi said, adding that the reach of the programme should be expanded through Self Help Groups (SHGs).
The PM stated that his government plans to provide 4 crore connections as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission, but that more needs to be done. "I demand that each state ensures good water quality through the pipelines that are being built and the water that is made available through taps." "Now is the moment to reach 100% saturation in terms of delivering basic services such as water, power, and other necessities. We'll have to push with all of our might.
