New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (August 2) made a special appeal to the people of the country. He said that everyone should put a picture of the national flag tricolor in the 'profile' picture (DP) of their social media accounts. Two days ago, PM Modi, in the 91st edition of his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', while interacting with the countrymen, had mentioned the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign and appealed that everyone should hoist the tricolor at their homes to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of independence.
It was during this programme that PM Modi had asked the countrymen to put the tricolor in their profile for 14 days. On Tuesday, he requested the people to do it after changing himself first. PM Modi tweeted, "Today 2nd August is special! At a time when we are celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our country is all set to #HarGharTiranga, a collective movement to celebrate our tricolour. I have changed dp on my social media pages and urge you all to do the same.''
PM Modi had said in his Mann Ki Baat programme that, "Under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, from August 13 to 15, a special campaign – 'Har Ghar Tiranga' - is being organized. So, I suggest that, during this time, you must hoist the tricolor in your homes. He had said that on this year's Independence Day, India is completing 75 years of its independence. We are all going to witness this wonderful and historic moment. Along with this, the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence is taking the form of a mass movement.
