According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the expressway was inspired by the Prime Minister's aim of providing fast-paced connectivity across the country. The 694-kilometer six-lane expressway will cost about Rs 36,200 crore to construct.
The expressway will run from Bijauli village in Meerut to Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj, starting near Bijauli village in Meerut and ending near Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj. Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj are among the cities it will travel through. It will be Uttar Pradesh's longest expressway when it is completed, connecting the state's western and eastern areas.
