Rewa: On the special occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, PM Narendra Modi, who reached Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, laid the foundation stone of projects worth about 17 thousand crores and dedicated them to the nation. This is Narendra Modi's third visit to Rewa after becoming the Prime Minister. Earlier, the PM had come to Rewa in 2018 to campaign for the assembly elections.

According to media reports, PM Modi visited several exhibitions including Amrit Sarovar, Swamitva Yojana, Health and Wellness Center in Rewa on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various rail projects worth more than Rs 2300 crore. Along with this, he flagged off 3 new trains.

During this, PM Modi while addressing the public said that, best wishes to all of you, to more than 2.5 lakh panchayats of the country, on 'National Panchayati Raj Day'. Today more than 30 lakh panchayat representatives are also connected with us virtually. This is certainly a very powerful picture of India's democracy. He said that we all are the representatives of the people. We are all dedicated to this country, to this democracy. The scope of work may be different, but the goal is the same - service to the nation through public service.

PM Modi said that, in this amritkal of independence, all of us countrymen have dreamed of a developed India and are working day and night to fulfill it. To make India developed, it is necessary to develop the social system of the villages of India. He said that to make India developed, it is necessary to develop the economic system of the villages of India. To make India developed, it is also necessary to develop the Panchayati system of the villages of India. With this thinking, our government is continuously working to strengthen the panchayat system of the country.

The Prime Minister told the public that in the 10 years before 2014, around 6,000 panchayat buildings were built with the help of the central government. Within 8 years, our government has got more than 30 thousand new panchayats constructed. The previous government had connected optical fiber to less than 70 gram panchayats. It is our government, which has taken optical fiber to more than 2 lakh panchayats of the country. He said that the difference is clear – the governments after independence destroyed the Panchayati Raj system of India. The system which existed hundreds of years, thousands of years ago, the same Panchayati Raj system was not trusted after independence. Since 2014, the country has taken up the cause of empowerment of its panchayats and the results are visible today. Today, Panchayats of India are emerging as the lifeblood of the development of villages.
