Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kyiv early on Friday, marking a historic occasion as he becomes the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Ukraine. His visit holds great importance, particularly as it takes place during a time of ongoing conflict in the region. The highlight of the visit will be a one-on-one meeting between PM Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Presidential Palace in Kyiv.

This meeting aims to explore ways to peacefully resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In addition to their private discussions, the two leaders are expected to hold delegation-level talks to further delve into diplomatic solutions and cooperation.

Upon arriving at the Hyatt Hotel in Kyiv, PM Modi received a warm reception from the Indian community, with students gathering to catch a glimpse of the visiting leader. "Reached Kyiv earlier this morning. The Indian community accorded a very warm welcome," PM Modi expressed in a social media post.

During his time in Kyiv, PM Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by offering floral respects. Later, he and President Zelenskyy paid homage to children at the Martyrologist Exposition, further underlining the emotional and humanitarian aspects of the visit.

This trip signifies a strong diplomatic outreach and a possible turning point in efforts to mediate peace in the war-torn region.
