New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli are "spectacular" players in their respective fields who are not easy to beat, stated  Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday on his forecast for 2019 general elections and India's chances of winning the World Cup yet again.

Worth mention here while India will elect a new government prior to May-end, the Virat Kohali and Company will tour to England and Wales to play Cricket World Cup, which is going to kicking off near the same time next year.

Addressing at an event here, FM Jaitley who is known as  a cricket enthusiast and a keen political observer was asked for his forecast on the general election and the World Cup.

He replied, "In both spheres, there are spectacular players -- Virat Kohli and Narendra Modi. And it is not easy to defeat them."

Supporting Kohli-led Indian team, he stated it is "very tough" to beat the present Indian cricket team in the short form of the game.

On general elections, he stated the 'Mahagathbandhan' or grand-alliance of opposition parties was a disastrous idea as "no country will jump in to commit suicide" by electing a collation "which does not have stability or ideology" or has no assurance of the leader.
