Prime Minister Modi inaugurated a series of vital infrastructure projects during his visit to Rajasthan, a state soon to face elections. These projects, collectively valued at approximately Rs.7,000 crore, were unveiled in Chittorgarh on Monday. Emphasizing the government's unwavering commitment to Rajasthan's development, PM Modi remarked, "The progress of Rajasthan holds paramount importance for the Central government," further stating, "The focus has been on the augmentation of modern infrastructure such as expressways, highways, and railways across Rajasthan." The state is gearing up for elections later this year.
In a bid to bolster the gas-based economy, PM Modi dedicated the Mehsana-Bhatinda-Gurdaspur Gas Pipeline to the state ahead of the polls. "The ongoing efforts to lay gas pipelines nationwide are instrumental in fortifying our gas-centric economy. This pipeline will foster industrial expansion in Rajasthan, creating thousands of job opportunities," Modi announced in Chittorgarh. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the construction of this pipeline came at an expenditure of approximately Rs.Rs.4,500 crores.
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated the LPG Plant of HPCL in Abu Road. This facility is poised to bottle and distribute a staggering 86 lakh cylinders annually while significantly reducing the annual mileage covered by cylinder-carrying trucks—by around 0.75 million kilometers—a move that will mitigate approximately 0.5 million tons of carbon emissions each year.
Prime Minister Modi also unveiled initiatives aimed at enhancing Rajasthan's tourism sector. He explained, "We are enriching our tourism hubs by establishing additional cultural centers in the region. The initiation of these new projects will create employment opportunities." Among these projects was the inauguration of tourism amenities developed in Nathdwara under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme. Nathdwara serves as a prominent center of faith for countless followers of the Pushtimarg, as propagated by Saint Vallabhacharya. Here, a modern 'tourist interpretation and cultural center' has been established, offering visitors a multifaceted glimpse into the life of Shrinathji.
Further bolstering connectivity, PM Modi inaugurated a four-lane road on NH-12 (New NH-52) along the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar route, a project undertaken at a cost exceeding Rs.1,480 crore. This project is expected to streamline the transportation of mined products from the Kota and Jhalawar districts.
After concluding his visit to Rajasthan, the Prime Minister proceeded to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh during the afternoon.
