PM Modi Unveils Development Projects Worth Over Rs 13,500 Crore in Telangana, Announces New Tribal University and Turmeric Board

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches Development Projects in Telangana Worth Over Rs 13,500 Crore; Announces New Tribal University and Turmeric Board. In a virtual event held in Telangana's Mahabubnagar district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated various developmental projects and laid the foundation stones for critical infrastructure initiatives with a total value exceeding Rs 13,500 crore.

One of the significant announcements made during the event was the establishment of the Samakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in Mulugu district, Telangana, with an estimated cost of Rs 900 crore. This university is expected to cater to the educational needs of tribal communities in the region. Additionally, PM Modi revealed the Indian government's decision to create a National Turmeric Board, aimed at benefiting turmeric farmers across the country. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for crucial road projects within the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor. These projects include a 108 km long four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam section of NH-163G and a 90 km-long four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G, with a total estimated cost of about Rs 6,400 crore.

PM Modi also inaugurated the newly four-laned 59 km long Suryapet to Khammam section of NH-365BB, developed at a cost of approximately Rs 2,460 crore as part of the Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Corridor under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. In the realm of railway infrastructure, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 37 km section of the Jaklair–Krishna New Railway Line, a project costing more than Rs 500 crore. This railway line expansion brings areas of the backward Narayanpet district onto the railway map for the first time. Another notable inauguration was the 'Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline Project,' constructed at an estimated cost of about Rs 2,170 crore. This LPG pipeline connects Hassan in Karnataka to Cherlapalli, a suburb of Hyderabad, providing a safe, cost-efficient, and eco-friendly means of LPG transportation and distribution in the region.

Additionally, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the multi-product petroleum pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad (Malkapur), a project estimated at Rs 1,940 crore. The event also witnessed the inauguration of five new buildings at Hyderabad University, including the School of Economics, School of Mathematics & Statistics, School of Management Studies, Lecture Hall Complex – III, and Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication (Annexe). Furthermore, the PM flagged off the Hyderabad (Kacheguda)-Raichur-Hyderabad (Kacheguda) train service from Krishna station via video conferencing, facilitating improved connectivity between Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts in Telangana and Raichur district in Karnataka.
