SRINAGAR:: Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, stated on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing nothing over alleged Muslim racial profiling in some regions of the country.
She told this before media in Srinagar during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu & Kashmir.
On Sunday, the Prime Minister was in Pali village in Samba, Jammu, where he took part in the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations and addressed Gram Sabhas around the country. The Prime Minister stated in his speech that the children will not witness the hardships that their parents and grandparents have witnessed in the past.
India is a secular society, but the country's largest minority "is being razed, their houses and livelihoods are being bulldozed." according to Mehbooba Mufti sdding that "Despite having a Muslim majority, Jammu and Kashmir joined a secular country where members of various faiths coexisted, but this is no longer the case. Muslims are in a bad mood right now."
"Those who have been slapped with UAPA as if the PSA was less severe?" she asked, referring to the young people with whom the Prime Minister was speaking. "The youth of Jammu and Kashmir have no future. Job opportunities are dwindling. Outsiders have access to our mineral riches and Jammu's booze outlets. Our property is for sale. The stamp fee has been cut by half to encourage land plundering "she said.
"Jammu and Kashmir, which supplies electricity to the entire country, has been plunged into darkness, with no electricity even during the month of Ramzan," she added.
