PM Modi lauds beneficiaries of Har Ghar Jal initiative

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, January 25, congratulated the achievement of 11 crore tap water connections and appreciated everyone who benefitted from the initiative.

These 11 crore tap water connections have been made under the Jal Jeevan Mission of the Central Government. A remarkable accomplishment that shows the lengths taken to provide the Indian people with "Har Ghar Jal." The Prime Minister tweeted, "Congratulations to everybody who have benefited from this effort and commendations to those working on the ground to make this Mission a success.

The Minister of Jal Shakti said in another tweet: "11 crore tap connections! The vision of our PM Narendramodi ji, the relentless pursuit of the goals set out for JalJeevanMission by the ministry and the effort of our team on ground has made this mega milestone possible."

Meantime, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also took to his Twitter and said that 11 crore homes have now been assured of health and well-being with this elixir of life reaching their doorsteps.

On August 15, 2019, Prime Minister Modi introduced the Government of India's flagship initiative, the Jal Jeevan Mission, from the Red Fort's ramparts. 

Jal Jeevan Mission aims to make provision of potable tap water supply in sufficient quantity, of prescribed quality and on a regular and long-term basis to every rural household of the country by 2024. The Indian government partners with States/UTs to carry out the initiative.
