Focusing on the relationship with a common responsibility for peace, stability and prosperity in the world, PM Modi is in Wuhan city of China attending an informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

PM Narendra Modi landed Wuhan, China early on Friday (2200 hrs IST on Thursday), for the first informal Summit with President of People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping. PM Modi is on two-day China visit 27-28 April.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping witnessed a cultural programme at Hubei Provincial Museum.

PM Modi will be spending about 24 hours in Wuhan, he'll first greet Xi and then get a tour of ancient Chinese artefacts’ at the Hubei Provincial Museum, followed by what is scheduled to be a 40-minute meeting with Xi and then dinner, according to MEA.

PM Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed in Wuhan for the 1st Informal Summit with Chinese President Xi. The two leaders will review the developments in bilateral relations of both nations from a strategic and long-term perspective.

The summit is aimed to put effort by India and China to rebuild trust and improve ties that were badly affected by the 73-day-long Doklam standoff last year.

“Chinese Defence Ministry on Thursday expressed its willingness to stabilize Indo-China military ties on the sidelines of the on-going visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Wuhan city”, ANI tweeted.

 Xinhua News Agency of China's quoted China's Ministry of National Defense representative Wu Quian saying, "Stabilizing military relations between China and India and maintaining peace in the border areas are the shared aspirations of people from both countries”, Wu asserted while addressing a press conference.
