Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday promised to end the crippling economic blockade in Manipur if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the state in the upcoming assembly elections. He said the BJP will do in 15 months what the Congress couldn’t in 15 years.

He also blamed Manipur’s Congress government for not taking the necessary steps to end the economic blockade that has crippled the north-eastern state.

Modi said unity of the people and development were the focus of BJP and added that all states in the northeastern region should develop. 

Referring to demonetization he said, "he will not stop until and unless he recovers the black money, further adding that it was the Congress which has a problem with the note ban."
