New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the industry to reduce dependence on imports and boost domestic manufacturing. PM Modi said that the 'Make in India' campaign is the need of India of the 21st century. He asked the industry to try to cut imports of goods that could be produced in India.
PM Modi addressed a webinar on the theme 'Make in India for the World' organised by the Department of Industry Promotion and Internal Trade (DPIIT). During this, PM Modi said that today the whole world is looking at India as a manufacturing power. He said the announcements made in the Budget for self-reliant India and 'Make in India' are very important for the industry and the Indian economy.
Pm Modi further said that the 'Make in India' campaign is the need of India of the 21st century and it gives us an opportunity to show our potential. He said that we should work with full force to build a strong manufacturing base. PM Modi said 'Make in India' is the need of the hour in sectors such as electric vehicles, special steel and medical equipment and opening up of coal, mining and defence sectors has paved the way for immense opportunities for industries.
