Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the Congress and the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), calling them "equal sinners" and accusing them of "destroying" the state. He exuded confidence that the BJP would form the government. Addressing a rally in Telangana's Mahabubabad, PM Modi said, "The people of Telangana can't let in another disease after ousting one. I have seen this everywhere in the state. The trust of Telangana is in the BJP. You have determined that the next Chief Minister of Telangana will be from the BJP."

He said if voted to power, the BJP would name a person from the backward community to become the Chief Minister. Accusing the Congress and the BRS for their appeasement and dynastic politics, the Prime Minister said the "four wheels and the steering of BRS' 'car' were no different from the 'hand' of Congress", referring to the symbols of the two parties. "Both these parties indulge in appeasement on the basis of religion. Both of them boosted corruption. Both of them promoted the dynasty. Both of them took appeasement to new heights. Wherever both these parties remained (in power), law and order got destroyed," he said.

PM Modi alleged that Congress and the BRS betrayed the Dalits and the Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He said the BJP was taking steps to empower the tribals and the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SCs). In a scathing attack at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, PM Modi said BRS has been "baffled" by the BJP's "increasing power".

"KCR realised the increasing power of BJP much earlier. For a long time, he was making an effort to strike a friendship with the BJP. Once, when he came to Delhi, KCR met me and made the same request. But BJP can never work against the wishes of the people of Telangana, he said.

"Ever since the BJP turned down KCR, BRS has been baffled. The party doesn't lose any opportunity to abuse me. BRS knows that Modi will never let it anywhere near BJP. This is Modi's guarantee," the Prime Minister further said. Telangana, which has 119 assembly seats, will head to polls on November 30. The counting of votes will take place on November 3.
