Prime Minister appealed to people to maintain peace, says 'No Indian should worry'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has demanded the countrymen to maintain peace over the protests that have been taking place across the country over the citizenship law for a long time. Where he says that violent demonstrations on the Citizenship Amendment Act are very unfortunate. While discussion and protest are part of democracy, it is not right to damage public property. No citizen needs to be afraid of this law. On this, he continuously tweeted 5.

In the first tweet, he wrote, "Violent protests on the Citizenship Amendment Act are unfortunate and deeply distressing. Debate, discussion and dissent are essential parts of democracy but, never has damage to public property and disturbance of normal life been a part of our ethos."

In the next tweet, he said, 'The Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 has been passed by both houses of Parliament with heavy support. A large number of political parties and MPs have supported its implementation. This act reflects the acceptance, harmony, compassion and brotherhood of India's age-old culture.

After which he wrote in a tweet, 'I want to clearly assure my fellow Indians that the citizenship law does not affect any citizen of India or any religion. No Indian has to worry about this law. This law is only for those who have faced persecution outside and who have no place other than India.

Then he said in the tweet that, '"The need of the hour is for all of us to work together for the development of India and the empowerment of every Indian, especially the poor, downtrodden and marginalised. We cannot allow vested interest groups to divide us and create disturbance."

In the last tweet, he wrote, 'It is time to maintain peace, unity and brotherhood. I appeal to all of you to stay away from all types of rumors and falsehoods.
