Lucknow: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the third "groundbreaking" ceremony in Uttar Pradesh, that aims to attract investments worth more than Rs 80 thousand crores. Bigwigs from the corporate world such as Gautam Adani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal, and Anant Ambani are expected to attend. "A record investment of Rs 80 thousand crores will be made at the groundbreaking," MSME Minister Nand Gopal Gupta said.

According to an official announcement issued here, the investments would fund at least 805 projects in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector, 275 in agriculture and associated industries, and 65 in pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. As per the statement, there would be six education projects totaling Rs 1,183 crore, seven dairy projects worth Rs 489 crore, and six animal husbandry projects worth Rs 224 crore. The state boasts 90 lakh MSMEs, the highest in the country, accounting for 14.2 percent of all such ventures. A total of Rs 4,459 crore would be invested in new MSMEs in the state as part of the groundbreaking ceremony 3.0.

Two of these units will be built in Agra, three in Aligarh, two in Amethi, one in Ayodhya, seven in Barabanki, two in Bareilly, one in Chandauli, one in Etawah, two in Fatehpur, one in Firozabad, and 40 in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad, among other locations throughout the state. According to the announcement, the money would be used to fund seven data centres for Rs 19,928 crores and 13 infrastructure projects totalling Rs 6,632 crores.

Agriculture and allied industries projects would receive Rs 11,297 crore, IT and electronics projects will receive Rs 7,876 crore, and manufacturing projects will receive Rs 6,227 crore, according to the statement.
