Gehlot posted on the indigenous social media app Koo, "Gehlot wrote, "The NDA government has failed to restore peace in Kashmir. The Central Government should ensure the safety of citizens in Kashmir. The killing of our citizens by terrorists like this will not be tolerated. On Thursday, Islamic militants shot dead Vijay Kumar, an employee of The Laklai Dehati Bank, inside the bank premises in Kulgam district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He was being taken to the hospital, but he died on the way.''

Terrorists in the Valley are continuously targeting Hindu citizens and government employees. Recently, there were large-scale protests against the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhatt in Budgam and a woman teacher in Kulgam. Kashmiri Pandits demanded that all migrant government employees be deployed in a safe place. The Jammu administration had also issued an order on Wednesday to shift the migrants posted in Kashmir and other employees of the Jammu division to safer places in the Valley by June 6 under the PM Special Package in view of the incidents of terrorists. ┬а
