New Delhi:: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to interact with the Indian contingent bound for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 today, July 20,  through video conferencing.

The prime minister's interaction is a part of his ongoing efforts to inspire athletes before they compete in important sporting events.

Last year, Modi interacted with the Indian athletes' contingent bound for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the Indian para-athletes' contingent for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The PM showed a deep interest in the participants' progress even throughout the sporting activities. He frequently called athletes directly to congratulate them on their accomplishments and honest efforts while inspiring them to perform better.

The Prime Minister has also met and spoken with the athletes since their return to the nation.
From July 28 until August 8, Birmingham will host the Commonwealth Games 2022. At the CWG 2022, 215 participants from 19 different sports will compete in 141 different events for India.
