New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to hold rally in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone today. On the other hand  Congress president Rahul Gandhi will visit Shimla for election campaigning.

The campaigning for the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections for 59 seats across seven states and one Union Territory ending today. The political leaders are holding rally to apppeal the voters.  In the seventh phase, all 13 seats in Punjab, nine in West Bengal, eight each in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, all four constituencies in Himachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand and the lone seat of Chandigarh will go to polls on May 19.

BJP's Bhopal candidate Sadhvi Pragya Thakur stirred a huge controversy after she called Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse a ‘patriot’. Late, she apologised for her comment saying that it was her personal opinion and her intention was not to hurt anyone. She accused the media of twisting her comment out of proportion.

After reciving backlash, Thakur apologised for it and withdrew the statement. She said, “It was my personal opinion remark. My intention was not to hurt anyone’s sentiments. If I’ve hurt anyone I do apologise. What Gandhi Ji has done for the country cannot be forgotten. My statement has been twisted by the media.”

The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
