Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Mumbai, Maharashtra today, marking his first visit to the city since beginning his third consecutive term as Prime Minister on June 9, following the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)'s victory in the Lok Sabha elections.

At 5:30 p.m., Prime Minister Modi will arrive at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai. Here, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several significant projects in the road, railways, and ports sectors, with a total value exceeding Rs 29,400 crore.

Around 7 p.m., the Prime Minister will visit the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat in the G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, to inaugurate the INS Towers. This new building will provide modern and efficient office space for INS members, serving as a central hub for the newspaper industry in the city.

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the tunnel work at the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) Project, which is worth over Rs 6,300 crore. The GMLR will connect the Western Express Highway at Goregaon with the Eastern Express Highway at Mulund. Spanning approximately 6.65 kilometers, this link will offer direct connectivity from the Western suburbs to the new airport in Navi Mumbai and the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Kalyan Yard Remodelling and the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai. The Kalyan Yard remodelling aims to separate long-distance and suburban train traffic, thereby increasing the yard's capacity and reducing congestion. The Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal, to be built on over 32,600 sq m, will handle cement and other commodities, creating additional employment opportunities for locals.

Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and extend Platforms No. 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station. The new, longer platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will accommodate longer trains, increasing the station's capacity. Platforms No. 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus have been extended by 382 meters, including a cover shed and washable apron, enabling them to handle trains with up to 24 coaches, thereby increasing passenger capacity.

Lastly, Prime Minister Modi will launch the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana, with an outlay of around Rs 5,600 crore. This transformative internship program aims to tackle youth unemployment by providing skill enhancement and industry exposure opportunities for youth aged 18 to 30 years.
