New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya on April 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. The Sangrahalaya, was opened as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, portrays the story of India after Independence through the lives and contributions of its Prime Ministers.

The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya is a memorial to every Prime Minister of India since Independence, irrespective of their ideology or duration in office, and is guided by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's aim to honour the contribution of all Prime Ministers of India to nation building. It is an all-inclusive initiative sponsored by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with the goal of educating and motivating the younger generation about all of our Prime Ministers' leadership, vision, and accomplishments.

The Sangrahalaya blends the former Teen Murti Bhawan, designated as Block I, with the newly constructed Block II, resulting in a seamless blend of the old and new. The two blocks have a combined area of around 15,600 square metres.

The museum's design is inspired by the story of India's rise, fashioned and moulded by the hands of its rulers. Sustainable and energy-saving measures are incorporated into the design. During the duration of the project, no trees were felled or moved. The Sangrahalaya's logo depicts the people of India clutching the Dharma Chakra, which represents the nation and democracy.

Information for the museum was collected from institutions such as Prasar Bharati, Doordarshan, Films Division, Sansad TV, Ministry of Defence, Media Houses (Indian and international), Foreign News Agencies, and others through resources / repositories. Appropriate use of Archives (Collected Works and other literary works, important correspondences), some Personal items, Gifts & Memorabilia (Felicitations, Honours, Medals conferred, commemorative stamps, coins, etc. ), speeches of Prime Ministers, and anecdotal representation of ideologies and different aspects of Prime Ministers' lives have all been reflected in a thematic format.
