New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that during his talks with US President Joe Biden, he offered to supply India's food reserves to the world if the World Trade Organisation (WTO) gets the permission. Pm Modi said this after inaugurating the hostel and education complex of Shri Annapurna Dham Trust at Adalaj in Gujarat through a video link. He said that due to the war in Ukraine, food stocks are declining in different parts of the world.

"Global food stocks are depleting due to the war in Ukraine, during my talks with US President Joe Biden, I said that if the World Trade Organization (WTO) gives some concessions, we can start providing Indian food items to the world. "Today, the world is facing an uncertain situation because nobody is getting what they want. It is difficult to buy petrol, oil and fertilizers because all the doors are closing. Everyone wants to secure their stock since its (Russia-Ukraine) war began.''

PM Modi further said, "The world is now facing a new problem; The world's granaries are emptying, I was talking to the Us President, and he also raised this issue. I suggested that if the WTO allows, India is ready to supply food stocks to the world from tomorrow.''
