New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district on Friday to kick off a series of development projects totaling over Rs 6250 crore. The Prime Minister will arrive in Mahoba at 2.45 p.m. to inaugurate a number of projects aimed at addressing the region's water deficit, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Arjun Sahayak Project, Ratauli Weir Project, Bhaoni Dam Project, and Majhgaon-Chilli Sprinkler Project are among the projects. The total cost of these projects is more than Rs 3250 crore, and when completed, they will irrigate roughly 65,000 hectares of land in the districts of Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, and Lalitpur, benefiting lakhs of farmers, according to the PMO. These projects will also offer people in the region with safe drinking water facilities.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for a 600-megawatt Ultra Mega Solar Power Park in Garautha, Jhansi, at 5.15 p.m. on the same day. The park, which would cost over Rs 3,000 crore to build, will assist supply cheaper electricity and grid stability, according to the PMO.
In Jhansi, the PM will also dedicate Atal Ekta Park. The park, named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, cost about Rs 11 crore to construct and covers an area of around 40,000 square metres. A library and a statue of Vajpayee will be located in the park. According to the PMO, the statue was created by renowned sculptor Ram Sutar, who also created the Statue of Unity.
