New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will release a special Rs 125 commemorative coin on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Shril Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad Ji on Wednesday and address a gathering, prime minister Modi will participate in the evening programme through video conference, while Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate her step through a virtual medium at Taliganj in another virtual programme at 1 pm.

The same Government of India is also going to issue a coin of Rs. 125. Swami Ji founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), commonly known as the "Hare Krishna Movement." ISKCON translated Srimad Bhagavad Gita and other Vedic literature into 89 languages which are playing an important role in the spread of Vedic literature around the world. Swami Ji also established more than 100 temples and wrote several books showing the world the path of Bhakti Yoga.

Radharaman, Vice President, ISKCON Kolkata, said that Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1 September 1896-14 November 1977), also known as Swami Srila Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada, was a popular Gaudiya Vaishnava guru and missionary of Hinduism. He spread the message of love and the glory of Bengal all over the world. Vedanta propagated the commentaries of the predecessors of the Brahma-Madhava-Gaudiya sect, the originator of pure Krishna bhakti on Krishna-bhakti and its associated areas, and brought Krishna Bhavana to the Western world.
