New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release benefits under the PM CARES for Children scheme via video conferencing today at 10:30 am.

Prime Minsiter Modi sent out a tweet on Sunday evening as under: "Benefits under the PM CARES for Children scheme will be released at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, May 30th. We are supporting those whose parents have died due to COVID-19 through this endeavour".

The Prime Minister will award scholarships to children who are enrolled in school. PM CARES for Children passbook and Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri health card  -The children will be given the Jan Arogya Yojana during the programme, said to the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister introduced the PM CARES for Children Scheme on May 29, 2021 to help children who lost both parents, legal guardians, adoptive parents, or surviving parent to the COVID-19 pandemic between March 11, 2020 and February 28, 2022.

The scheme's goal is to provide children with long-term care and protection by providing them with boarding and lodging, empowering them through education and scholarships, preparing them for self-sufficiency with a financial support of Rs 10 lakh when they reach the age of 23, and ensuring their health through health insurance.

To register the children, the government developed an online portal. The portal is a single-window system that streamlines the approval procedure and other child aid.
