NEW DELHI:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session at Mumbai's Jio World Centre on this Saturday, October 14. The IOC Session is a vital gathering of esteemed members of the International Olympic Committee, where pivotal decisions that influence the future of the Olympic Games take shape. This distinguished occasion fosters an environment for meaningful interaction and the exchange of knowledge among diverse stakeholders in the realm of sports.

The 141st IOC Session, taking place in India, stands as a testament to the nation's unwavering commitment to nurturing global collaboration, extolling the virtues of sporting excellence, and advancing the Olympic principles of camaraderie, respect, and achievement. This proclamation was conveyed by the Prime Minister's Office.

Furthermore, it offers a unique opportunity for stakeholders in the sports arena to come together, engage in productive discussions, and share valuable insights. The IOC Session is scheduled to transpire from October 15 to 17 at the state-of-the-art Jio World Convention Centre, situated in the heart of Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex. This convention centre stands as the largest of its kind in India, providing a fitting backdrop for this significant event. The splendid Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) theatre will host the grand Opening Ceremony, while the IOC Session meetings will be held in the exhibition hall.

This marks the second time that India has been honored with the responsibility of hosting an IOC Session, a gap of four decades since the first occasion in 1983 when the 86th session graced New Delhi.

The Session will see the esteemed presence of Mr. Thomas Bach, the President of the International Olympic Committee, alongside other distinguished IOC members. The event is also set to welcome various prominent figures from the Indian sports community, as well as representatives from numerous sports federations, including the Indian Olympic Association.
