New Delhi: Today is the birthday of PM Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben, mother Heeraben is entering her 100th year on June 18. The Prime Minister reached Gandhinagar on the occasion. He pulled his mother's feet and applied the water with his eyes. PM Modi's mother also sweetened the mouth of her son who had come to meet him on his birthday and blessed him. PM Modi has also written a blog on the special occasion of his mother's birthday. In this blog, he has shared his childhood memories related to his mother.
"My mother, Hiraba, is entering her 100th year today on June 18. That means his birth centenary year is beginning. If dad were there today, he would have turned 100 last week. That means 2022 is a year when my mother's birth centenary year is beginning and this year my father's birth centenary year has been completed. My mother was born in Visnagar in Mehsana district. It is not very far from Vadnagar. My mother was not lucky to love her mother i.e. my grandmother. The impact of the global pandemic that came a century ago had been around for many years. The same pandemic had also taken my grandmother away from my mother. My mother must have been there for a few days. They don't remember my granny's face, her lap, anything. You think, my mother's childhood went on without her mother, she could not insist on her mother, she could not hide her head in her anchal. The mother was not even lucky to know the letters, she did not even see the door of the school. He saw only poverty and deprivation everywhere in the house.
Childhood struggles had made my mother grow up long before she was old. She was the eldest in her family and became the eldest daughter-in-law even when she got married. In her childhood, just as she used to worry about everyone in her house, take care of everyone, take the responsibility of all the work, similarly, she had to take the responsibilities in her in-laws. Amidst these responsibilities, amidst these problems, the mother always handled the family in every situation, with a calm mind. The house in Vadnagar where we used to live was very small. There was no window in that house, no bathroom, no toilet. All in all, that one-and-a-half-room structure made of mud walls and roof of khaprail was our house, in which mother and father, we all used to live brothers and sisters. In that small house, the mother had some ease in cooking, so the father had made a loft like a loft in the house with the help of bamboo sticks and wooden stripes. That was the kitchen of our house. My mother used to cook on it and we used to sit on it and eat. To get two or four paise more to run the house, the mother used to use the utensils of the house of others. He also used to take time out and run the charkha because he also used to collect some money from it. The work of removing cotton from cotton peel, the work of making threads from cotton, all these things were done by the mother herself. They were afraid that the thorns of the cotton peels would not pierce us. ''
