New Delhi: PM Modi is addressing the 'Schooling in the 21st Century' conference under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 through video conferencing today. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement that, the Ministry of Education is organizing a two-day conference, which has started as a festival of education from Thursday. During this, PM Modi said that NEP has been prepared in this way so that the syllabus can be reduced and the focus on fundamental things.
He said that a National Curriculum Framework would be created to make learning integrated and inter-disciplinary, fun based and complete experience. There are so many professions that require deep skills, but we do not give them importance. If students see them, then it will be a kind of emotional connection, students will respect them. It is possible that many of these children grow up to join such industries and pursue them. PM Modi said that each region has something of its own in our country, some traditional art, workmanship, products are famous everywhere. Students go to those looms, handlooms, see how these clothes are made? Such skilled people can also be called in school.
PM Modi said that after the announcement of the National Education Policy many questions are arising in the minds of many people. What is this education policy? How is it different? What will change in the system of schools and colleges from this? What is there for teachers and students in this education policy? And most importantly, what to do to implement it successfully, how to do it? The questions are legitimate as well as important. That is why we all have gathered in this program so that we can discuss and make a way forward.
