NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asserted that the dream of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, BR Ambedkar, Syama Prasad Mookerjee and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been fulfilled by revoking articel the Constitution’s Article 370, giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. 

In his address to the nation has said that the Constitution's article 370 and Article 35A have given nothing to Jammu and Kashmir except for separatism, terrorism, familyism and rampant corruption in systems. Prime Minister Modi says these two sections were being used as a weapon by Pakistan to incite feelings of some people against the country.

In his address, PM Modi said, “Like one family, one nation – we have taken a historic decision on Jammu and Kashmir. Such a system, due to which the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were deprived of many rights, which was a major obstacle in their development, have now gone away.

He further said, " “The dream of Sardar Patel, Baba Ambedkar, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee and Atal Bihari Vajpayee and crores of patriots have been fulfilled.”

He further said the rights and obligations of all citizens of the country are now equal.  Prime Minister Modi said that there are certain things in society life that are so mixed with the time that sometimes those things are considered permanent. "There was a similar sentiment with Section 370. This section did not discuss the damage that our brothers and sisters in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were doing,"
