New Delhi: India is celebrating the 89th anniversary of its Air Force today. Indian Air Force Day is celebrated on October 8 every year. This day marks the anniversary of the establishment of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in the year 1932. Since its inception, the Indian Air Force has made significant contributions to various wars and missions (including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions during natural disasters).

Air Force Day is celebrated at Hindon Airbase in the presence of the Indian Air Force Chief and senior officers of the three Armed Forces. Air Force Day Parade is also organized on this occasion. Several leaders including PM Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind congratulated the Indian Air Force and saluted their courage. PM Modi congratulated the Air Force and said, "Greetings to our air warriors and their families on Air Force Day. The Indian Air Force is synonymous with courage, diligence and professionalism. They have distinguished themselves in defending the country and through their humanitarian spirit in times of challenges.''

On the other hand, President Ram Nath Kovind wrote, "Congratulations to the air warriors, veterans and their families on Air Force Day. The nation is proud of the Indian Air Force, which has proved its capability and strength several times during peace and war. I am confident that the Indian Air Force will continue to maintain its standards of excellence.''
