New Delhi: PmMNarendra Modi has paid tributes to Gwalior Rajgharana's Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia on her birth anniversary. Under the birth centenary celebrations of the departed BJP leader, PM Modi today released a commemorative coin of Rs 100 in honour of Rajmata. Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia was the leader of the Jan Sangh and was among the founding members of the BJP.

Several BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda, saluted the Gwalior Rajgharana's Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia on her birth anniversary on Monday and termed her as a unique statue of ideas and principles. In a tweet, Shah said, "Rajmata Scindia gave a new direction to the politics of the country with her sacrifice and patriotism. Her dedication towards the nation and ideology was respectable. Salute the unique statue of ideas and principles".

Scindia was the rajmata of Gwalior Rajgharana and was also the founding member of the BJP. She was elected five times in the Lok Sabha and one Rajya Sabha member. Today is her 100 birth anniversary. The BJP president described her as a source of inspiration for every citizen and wrote in a tweet, "I Salute Rajmata Scindia on her birth anniversary, who has been a source for social welfare. Rajmata Scindia is a source of inspiration for every citizen".
