New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. With the construction of this airport, UP will become the first state in the country to have 5 international airports. This airport is built in Jewar will be the second international airport in Delhi-NCR and after its construction, the load on Indira Gandhi International Airport will also be reduced.

The first phase of foundation stone laying of the airport, which was held in the presence of UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, will be completed in 2023-24. Earlier, when PM Modi reached the stage to lay the foundation stone of the airport, people gave him a warm welcome with the slogans of Vande Mataram, Jai Shri Ram and Radhe-Radhe. Earlier, PM Modi inspected the design of the airport and inquired about its design from the officials. CM Yogi had given information on Koo on Wednesday regarding the foundation stone laying program of PM Modi.
In view of the foundation stone laying ceremony of Noida International Airport, Noida Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory providing alternative routes for those travelling to the city or Jewar. Traffic police informed on Twitter that people travelling from Yamuna Expressway, Palwal, Noida, Jewar to Secunderabad-Bulandshahr can reach their destination through the Jewar-Khurja route from Kasba Jahangirpur to Kasba Jhajjar.
