New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today launched the Digital Payments Solution e-RUPI through video conferencing. This is a voucher-based payment solution. Digital payments can be made in a cashless and contactless manner through e-RUPI. It is a cashless and contactless instrument for digital payments. State that it is an e-voucher based on a QR code or SMS string, which can be delivered on the beneficiaries' mobile.
Users of this one-time payment system will be able to redeem this voucher with the service provider without any card, digital payment app, or internet banking. The National Payments Corporation of India has developed it on its UPI platform. It has been developed in collaboration with Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and National Health Authority. State that e-RUPI connects the sponsor and beneficiary of the service digitally without any physical interface.
At the same time, it also ensures that payment is made to the service provider after the transaction is completed. This is a prepaid payment solution. An official release said it could prove to be a revolutionary step towards leakproof delivery of welfare schemes. It can be used for the delivery of services under various government schemes. At the same time, private sector companies can also provide digital vouchers to their employees under the welfare program.
