Vijay Diwas: Modi Govt to tribute martyrs on 50th anniversary of 1971 Indo-Pak War

New Delhi: On the occasion of the completion of 50 years of 1971 India-Pakistan war, PM Narendra Modi lit the 'Golden Victory Torch' from the Amar Jyoti of National War Memorial in the capital Delhi and sent him to different parts of the country. Modi was accompanied by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defense Staff Vipin Rawat and heads of the three armies at the event organized on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.

PM Modi paid tribute to the soldiers at the National War Memorial on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. During this, Indian Army Chief MM Narwane, Air Force Chief RKS Bhadoria and Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh also paid tribute to the soldiers. PM Modi lit four victory torches from the flame that continued to burn at the National Summer Memorial and sent him to various parts of the country including the villages of Paramveer Chakra and Mahavir Chakra winners of the 1971 war.

In addition to the villages of these winners, the soil of the 1971 battle sites will be brought to the National War Memorial in the national capital. At the same time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the logo for 'Golden Victory Year' on the 50th anniversary of 1971 India-Pakistan war. He paid tribute to the soldiers who were martyred in this war.
