PM Modi on Mann Ki Baat asks to take resolution of plastic-free India on Gandhi Jayanti...

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the people through his radio programme Mann Ki Baat. Prime Minister Modi said that this time on October 2nd, when we celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, we will not only dedicate him to open defecation-free India but also lay the foundation for a new mass movement against the use of plastic across the country on that day.

Prime Minister Modi said, I appeal to all sections of the society and residents to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti this year as a plastic liberation to our own Mother India. The day of Bapu's birth anniversary becomes a celebration of a special labour donation. Many merchants have set up a placard in the shop. It says that customers should carry their bags together. It will also save money and we will be able to contribute to protecting the environment.

"I saw that the International Day of Yoga has created a situation where anyone in the world who meets me has to question me about yoga. Prime Minister Modi said, our country is enjoying rain on the one hand and on the other hand, there is some kind of celebration and fairs in every corner of India. This will last till Diwali.
