New Delhi: There is a phone conversation between PM Modi and US President Joe Biden. This information has been provided in the tweet made by the Prime Minister's Office. During the talks, PM Modi is said to have congratulated Biden for winning the election, as well as talks between the two on climate change, regional issues and shared priorities.
PM Modi tweeted on Monday that he has spoken to the new US President Joe Biden to discuss regional issues and shared priorities. This was the first telephonic conversation between the two leaders since Biden's inauguration, which took place last month. The two leaders said the Indo-US partnership "will work strongly in a shared commitment to democratic values and shared strategic interests." They have reiterated the importance of working with like-minded countries to create a rule-based international system and an independent, to ensure an open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.
In another tweet, PM Modi said, "President Joe Biden and I are committed to a rules-based global order. We are looking forward to strengthen our strategic partnership for peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond."
