Imphal: In view of the assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Manipur today (February 22) to campaign for the BJP. During his visit to Manipur, PM Modi will visit the Luwangsangbam Sports Complex ground in Imphal East district. Here he is scheduled to address an election rally. A large number of people have reached the Luwangsangbam Sports Complex for PM Modi's public meeting. A large number of BJP supporters are also gathering at the sports complex.

Manipur goes to the polls on February 27 and March 3. All parties are in full swing for the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, Assam minister Ashok Singhal, who is the state election in charge of the ruling BJP. He said PM Modi's visit will boost the party's morale. "The BJP government has earned goodwill from the people of the north-eastern state and it will be reflected in the results of the elections," Singhal said, adding that he was confident that the party would get more than 40 seats in the 60-member assembly.

BJP's state unit vice-president A Sharda Devi said the party will return to power with an absolute majority and PM Modi's visit will send a credible message to the people. "PM Modi's visit will definitely encourage and empower the party," he said.
