New Delhi: Today PM Narendra Modi will flag off a train running without a driver. The journey of the country's first driverless train will be 37 kilometres. This train will be a part of the Delhi Metro. The driverless train will be fully automatic and will reduce the chances of human mistakes to a minimum.

The country's first driverless trains are to be run on the Magenta Line and Pink Line of the Delhi Metro. In the first phase, the driverless train will run from Janakpuri West on the Magenta Line between the Botanical Garden metro station of Noida. After this, in the year 2021, there is a plan to run a driverless metro for 57 kilometres in the Pink Line, which will cover the distance from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar. In this way, there is a plan to run driverless trains for a total of 94 kilometres.

The common metro train, there will be 6 coaches in the driverless train. Delhi Metro has described the driverless train as a major technological achievement. DMRC was trialling the driverless metro train for the last about 3 years. Delhi Metro first started its trial in September 2017. Please tell that 2,280 passengers will be able to travel in a driverless train at a time. It can carry 380 passengers in each coach.
