Patna: The central government has rained several schemes ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar. In the same episode, PM Modi will launch the Kosi Rail Mahasetu connecting Mithanachal through video conference on September 18, at 12 noon. In addition, PM Modi will launch several schemes of Samastipur Railway Division and also flag off the operation of Supaul to Asanpur Kupaha Demu train.
It may be noted that in 1887, a metre gauge link was built between Nirmali and Bhaptihi (Saraigarh) which was destroyed due to the massive earthquake in 1934. The Kosi and Mithanachal were then divided into two parts. Later on June 6, 2003, the then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee laid the foundation stone for the Kosi Mega Bridge Line project at a function held at a college in Nirmali. The historic Kosi Rail Mahasetu is 1.9 km long and Rs 516 crore has been spent on its construction.
PM Modi will also flag off 3 trains with 5 major schemes of Samastipur Railway Division. According to DRM Ashok Maheshwari, PM Modi will flag off an electric-engine Lichavi Express for Sitamarhi to Anand Vihar terminal, Demu for Supaul Saraigarh Asanpur Kupaha station and a DEMU train for Saraigarh Raghapur through digital video conferencing.
