New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi suddenly reached Gurudwara Shish Ganj Sahib in Delhi this morning. On the 400th Prakash Parv of Guru Teg Bahadur, PM Modi offered prayers at Gurudwara Shish Ganj Sahib and paid homage to him by bowing his head. PM Modi visited the gurudwara without security routes and special security arrangements.
According to sources in the Prime Minister's Office, no police arrangements were made on the streets when Modi visited the Gurudwara and no barriers were installed in view of the convenience of the general public. PM Modi bowed to Guru Teg Bahadur before going to gurudwara. Pm Modi wrote in his tweet, "I bow to Shri Guru Teg Bahadur on the auspicious occasion of his 400th Prakash Parv. He is respected all over the world for his efforts and courage to serve the backward. He refused to bow down to injustice and oppression. His supreme sacrifice strengthens and inspires many".
The Central Government had announced last year to celebrate the 400th Prakash Parv of Guru Teg Bahadur with fanfare. A high level committee headed by PM Modi also held a meeting in this regard recently. In this meeting, PM Modi had said that the occasion of 400th prakashotsav of Guru Teg Bahadur is a national duty.
