New Delhi: PM Modi will be visiting Bangladesh today and tomorrow. During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Bapu Bangabandhu Digital Video Exhibition in Dhaka. He will also meet the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and will attend the National Day celebrations. Foreign Affairs Advisor to Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina Gauhar Rizvi said that his country does not believe in developing relations with China and India is the most important partner of Bangladesh.

In the next two days in Bangladesh, PM Modi will hold talks with Sheikh Hasina and participate in the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the nation. During this, PM Modi will also attend the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Sheikh Mujib ur Rehman. He will visit Sheikh Mujib's tomb outside Dhaka as well as a temple. On the proposed National Register for Citizens (NRC) in Bangladesh, Rizvi said that this is an internal practice in India.  

This is PM Modi's first foreign tour since the outbreak of the Corona epidemic. In a statement released a day before his two-day visit, PM Modi said that he is happy that his first foreign tour since the outbreak of the epidemic is from a neighboring country with which India shares a deep cultural following. He said, "My visit will not only be an opportunity to applaud Bangladesh for its remarkable economic and developmental progress under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina."
