On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken on phone with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi about the Ukrainian situation and the formation of security assurances between Russia and the West. it all started when Russia attacked and seized the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine in February and March 2014. This incident occurred following the 2014 Ukrainian revolution and is part of the wider Russian-Ukrainian war.

In response to Draghi's concern over the situation in Ukraine, Putin warned that Kiev is evading its commitments under the 2015 Minsk accords, according to media reports.

Putin explained Russia's essential approaches to long-term and legally enforceable security guarantees in detail, emphasising the significance of adhering to the fundamental concept of "security indivisibility," as defended by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
