SAGAR: PM Narendra Modi is set to visit Madhya Pradesh on August 12th in anticipation of the upcoming state elections. His itinerary includes inaugurating a temple dedicated to Sant Ravidas, the 14th-century poet and social reformer, in Sagar district. The temple, costing Rs 100 crore, will be the centerpiece of his visit. Alongside this, the Prime Minister will also unveil several key infrastructure projects, emphasizing connectivity and developmental progress.

The Bina-Kota rail route, an important transportation artery for the region's economic activities, has undergone a significant upgrade. The completion of the doubling of this rail route, a project initially announced in 2012 and substantially progressed since 2019, is a notable achievement. Spearheaded by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), the project concluded in January 2023. With a maximum speed of 110 kmph, the new railway line spans across Rajasthan's Kota and Baran districts, as well as Madhya Pradesh's Guna, Ashoknagar, and Sagar districts.

The project, which carried a cost of over Rs. 2475 crores, adds capacity, improves mobility, and enhances train speed along the route. With 37 stations, including 28 major bridges and 202 minor ones, the local infrastructure has undergone a significant enhancement. This development extends to the railway stations along the route, creating better passenger experiences and facilitating increased passenger traffic.

The day's schedule for PM Modi is as follows: He will arrive in Khajuraho from New Delhi before taking a helicopter to the Badtuma area in Sagar district, arriving approximately at 2:15 pm. There, he will perform Bhoomi Poojan at the Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas ji Memorial Sthal. At around 3:15 pm, he will lay the foundation stone for the Rs 100-crore temple dedicated to Sant Ravidas. Following the temple ceremony, a public meeting is planned near the Dhana airstrip, located about 20 km from the temple site.

These events, namely the temple's foundation stone laying and the subsequent public meeting, mark the conclusion of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's ongoing 'Samrasta Yatras,' showcasing their efforts to promote social harmony and unity.
