Chandigarh: Even though the state government has given instructions for a judicial inquiry in the case of deaths due to poisonous liquor in the country's state of Punjab, the parents of the deceased neither expect justice nor receive compensation. Family members of the dead are not ready to talk during the panic of liquor mafia in the area. The poisonous liquor was transported to many villages from Pandori Gola. There are two such families in village Mallamohari and Pandori Gola, where father and son's funeral take place together.
The post-mortem report will play a special role for the same compensation amount. The result of the fear of the deadly liquor mafia is that more than 42 families did not get post mortem of the dead, making them away from legal trouble. Only two mortgages of 34 dead have taken place in the city in two days. According to the sources received, this happened because in the legal proceedings, it was to be told from where the fatal liquor was purchased. The official death toll in the city has been 82. Liquor is being sold openly in the village. These people doing business of death also have no fear of the police.
That's why most families have withdrawn from the legal investigation. These families were apprehensive that on the occasion of making a statement for the post-mortem if they were asked where they had purchased the fatal alcohol, it may have enmity with the liquor mafia. Post mortem report in government hospitals is called from Kharar Lab. The viscera of the people who died after drinking alcoholic liquor are to be sent to this lab for inspection. Generally, reports of people who die of alcoholism and postmortem conducted under Section 174 investigation, hang on for 4 to 6 months. The same is now being investigated on this matter.
