Vijayawada : Home Minister Mekathothi Sucharitha administered the oath of office to Mettukuru Chiranjeevi Reddy as the chairman of Police Housing Corporation at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Sucharita said that the Chief Minister is providing better infrastructure facilities to the Police Department to maintain law and order in the State and serve the people better. The Home Minister said that through Disha App, police is providing security to women and girls across the state. He said that Disha police stations were established for this purpose.

He alleged that the previous TDP government had neglected the welfare and development of the police department. She wanted Chiranjeevi Reddy to give good services to the department and the people. He felt that the pending works left by the previous TDP government would be completed at the earliest. Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav expressed hope that Chiranjeevi Reddy would discharge his duties as the Chairman of Police Housing Corporation very efficiently. He said that skilled presidents are being appointed in all 137 corporations to serve the people.

Chiranjeevi Reddy expressed his gratitude to the CM for appointing him as the president. He further said that he would convene meetings with the police officers and take measures to complete the under-construction police buildings and housing complexes on priority basis. Police Housing Corporation MD S Sanjay, MLA Ramireddy Pratap Reddy, Malladi Vishnu, AP Tourism Corporation chairman Varaprasad Reddy and others were present.
