Aligarh: In the case of violation of Section 144 in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh, UP Police has taken a big action. Police have registered a case against 1200 students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for taking out the candle march without permission. In fact, three days ago, thousands of AMU students, teachers and others had taken out a protest candle march in protest against the Citizenship Act (CAA) and action was taken by the police during this period. Due to which action has been taken against these students.

CO Civil line Anil Samania has said that a case has been registered against 1200 people under Section 188, 341 IPC in the Police Civil Lines. A candle march was held at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on December 23 at 5 pm by the teachers along with the students in protest against CAA. The candle march started from Chungi Gate in the city to Babay Sayyed Gate. Thousands of AMU students, teachers and non-teaching staff along with others attended this demonstration.

During the protest, students addressed President Ram Nath Kovind and demanded that CAA be abolished immediately. Apart from this, the students had also demanded action on the police for showing unkindness to the students of the university who are performing peacefully by the police. The students also demanded the removal of the chancellor and registrar of the university. CO Civil line Anil Samania has said that section 144 is applicable in the city. People have violated Section 144 by taking out the march. For which we have filed a case against 1200 people.
