JNU violence: Police remove protesters from Gateway of India

Mumbai: Protesters gathered at Mumbai's Gateway of India in protest against the violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) (5 January) are being removed by the police. It is being told that the posters of Free Kashmir were seen in Mumbai last night. After which the police have decided to shift the protesters to Azad Maidan in view of the security of this sensitive area.

It is being told that the police first urged the protesters to evacuate this area sensitive to safety. But the protesters did not listen and they started shouting slogans against the Mumbai Police. The police said, 'Many tourists will come here, people have to go to their work, please go to Azad Maidan'. The protesters said that everything will be under our control here. But there is no such thing. Now the protesters are being shifted to Azad Maidan in a police car.

After the JNU violence, students, film personalities and many more people had gathered at the Gateway of India in Mumbai to perform. But last night a video of a female protester on the Gateway of India came out in the media. In this video, the woman was seen holding a poster of Free Kashmir in her hand.
