Amritsar: If the festival of Diwali is called the festival of gift transactions, nothing will go wrong. On this day many people give gifts to each other, but the Punjab Police do not accept this. Recently, two officers of Punjab have put a notice in their police station that they should not be given any gift on Diwali. According to the information received, Station House Officer (SHO) and Police Station Incharge Sanjiv Kumar Sharma in Amritsar said that Diwali does not mean taking gifts from businessmen and industrialists.

For this reason, he has put a notice outside the police station in the Vallah area, asking the public not to give him or any police employee a Diwali gift. 57-year-old inspector Sanjeev Kumar Sharma said, "Those who continue to give money to help the society, have appealed to the people to distribute the gifts to the poor instead of giving it to the policemen. My entire staff has promised not to take any Diwali gift to anyone."

He also said, 'The entire staff of the police station is making community kitchens for the poor on the day of Diwali and other government officials and employees should do the same.' Sanjeev Kumar Sharma is awarded the President's Medal. He has given 36 years in the police force and was well-known for his services in the city of Amritsar in the fight against Covid-19.
